Jordi Francés
Founder · Sustainable Industrial Designer
Jordi Francés is an industrial design engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), specialising in product development and industrialisation.
At VONDOM and ACTIU, Jordi developed products from initial concept through to series production, working with internationally renowned designers including Ross Lovegrove, Eugeni Quitllet, Stefano Giovannoni and Javier Mariscal.
Years on the factory floor — plastic injection moulding, aluminium die-casting, wood, metalwork and upholstery — showed him where a product's environmental impact is really decided: in the choice of materials, in how parts are joined and in whether they can come apart again. AXYFORM puts that knowledge to work on objects that use fewer materials, rely on recycled and renewable sources, and are designed to be repaired, disassembled and recycled.

The studio
AXYFORM is a sustainable industrial design studio. Every proposal starts from the same question: what happens to this object at the end of its life? The answer shapes the design from the first sketch: fewer materials, mechanical joints instead of glue, parts that can be replaced, and materials that can go back into the loop.
The name combines axis and form — the Y references the X/Y axes of a technical drawing: the exact point where an idea begins to become an object. Current proposals are AI-assisted concept studies, developed and curated by the studio.
Approach
01 · Fewer materials
One material where possible. Fewer materials mean simpler recycling.
02 · Recycled & renewable
Recycled aluminium and steel, cork, solid wood, ceramic: materials with a second life or a natural cycle.
03 · Repair & disassembly
Screws, clips and bayonets instead of glue and welds, so parts can be replaced and separated.
04 · Made to last
Timeless form and robust construction: the most sustainable product is the one you keep.
